Database For Vintage and Classic Dunlop Vehicle Jacks
Other vintage British car jack databases:
George Radion in Australia has a database on Australian-made Jacks
This database is for vintage and classic Ford vehicle jacks. Many of the photos and comments have been gleaned from Ebay and other sites. I would be pleased to add photos and comments from anyone who has information on these jacks.
Please note that this information is accurate to the best of my knowledge, but I make no claims about authority on this subject. Use your own discretion when evaluating the accuracy of the information.
Some of the jacks listed may well have been made by other manufacturers under contract to Ford. I have listed these jacks in this database until I receive confirmation of the manufacturers name.
The values are normally taken from auction sites world-wide, but exclude postage.
Ford jack Coding
Example: 81DB-17080-AC
81 is the model year of the original design
D is the model, in this case Cargo Truck (previously D Series)
B is the design location: B for Britain or G for Germany
17080 is the part, in this case a jack
A is the model derivative (might be different for left or right hand drive, side of car, or trim level, though unlikely to affect jacks)
C is the engineering level, in this case the third version for the same application
Other models are:
A = Escort/Focus, e.g. 81AB
B = Cortina/Sierra/Mondeo, e.g. 71BB
F = Fiesta/Fusion, e.g. 77FG
G= Granada/Scorpio, e.g. 85GG
V = Van = Transit, e.g. 86VB
The applicability of part numbers to models isn’t an exact science though; as there are many parts that were originally designed for a certain model but have subsequently been “carried over” to later series or other models completely.
Request to vendors: Please feel free to use the information from these databases in your adverts. An acknowledgement of the source would be most welcome. However, please do not twist any of the information. Where I say along the lines: 'May be for car X' please make this clear in your advert. An altered statement saying: 'It is for car X' will create false facts and misinformation. If you know for certainty a jack's heritage please contact me so that I can amend the entry. Thank you.

Metallifacture - Ford Cortina Mk1 Description Copied from the Metallifacture database. The jack has METALLIFACTURE PATENT No. 903079 on the jack arm and the dome jacking point has M15152G. It has a 3/8" drive and a milled thumb screw. This jack is for the standard Cortina Mk1. Details courtesy of Barrie Camborne Cornwall. Unlike the jacks for the E-Type and Lotus cars, this version does not have the mid section pad. One weakness with the jacks is the tendency for winder-end cross piece to bow under strain (last photo). Buyers beware and users should be extremely cautious about using these old jacks for wheel changes. Note the washer arrangement in the second to last photo. Applicable Vehicles: Ford Cortina and Cortina GT Mk1. For Lotus Cortina Mk1 see Metallifacture database. Jack Handle Type: The ratchet handle is 11" long and has METALLIFACTURE to raise this side of jack and on the other side 'To lower this side to jack'. Pressed steel version as in the second to last photo, not the solid one. Year Dates Noted:
